  • 1980: BA in Political Science from Portland State University in the US state of Oregon.

  • 1990: Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations from the Complutense University of Madrid

Work Experience

  • 1981: Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Third Secretary

  • 1981-1985: Embassy of the State of Qatar in Washington D.C.

  • 1986-1990: Embassy of the State of Qatar in Madrid

  • 1990-1991: Head of the Information Department in the Administration of the Cooperation Council at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  • 1991-1992: Embassy of the State of Qatar in Tehran

  • 1993-1995: Deputy Director of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

  • 1995-1997: Director of the Department of European and American Affairs.

  • 1997-2001: Director of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

  • 1997-2001: Member of the Committee for Diplomatic and Consular Affairs.

  • 2001-2002: Director of the Department of European and American Affairs.

  • 2002-2003: Ambassador at large and Spokesman for the Constitution in 2003.

  • 2003-2013: Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic.

  • 2010: Granted the rank of Minister.

  • 2013-2016: Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States of America.

  • 2017-2019: Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Spain and non-resident Ambassador to Andorra.

  • 2020-2021: Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Federal Republic of Germany.

  • 2021-Present: Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Swiss Confederation and Principality of Liechtenstein.

  • H. E. Ambassador Al- Kuwari was also a non-resident Ambassador to the Vatican, Monaco, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg..
